Sheela A. Stark, Esq., is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Lead Litigation Attorney of Stark & Stark Law Group, APC. Her practice spans complex probate litigation, trust disputes, conservatorships, guardianships, elder abuse matters, special needs planning, fiduciary representation, high-level business law, and tribal representation. She is known for disciplined advocacy, strategic clarity, and an unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals.

Graduating near the top of her law school class with multiple job offers, Sheela chose to build rather than inherit. She founded her firm without prior firm experience, constructing its systems, culture, and litigation infrastructure from the ground up. What began as risk became a foundation.

She thrives in litigation.

She respects the structure of it. The positioning. The disciplined strategy that unfolds move by move. The courtroom is not a place for performance but for precision. She prepares relentlessly, anticipates opposition before it surfaces, and remains steady under pressure. When matters become high-conflict or complex, she becomes sharper.

Much of her work involves protecting vulnerable adults and individuals with special needs, including cases involving elder abuse and fiduciary misconduct. These matters carry weight, and she treats them accordingly.

Sheela has also developed substantial experience representing Tribal citizens and navigating sovereign jurisdictional frameworks. She advocates across Tribal, state, and federal courts with cultural awareness and respect for sovereignty. After identifying a critical gap in citizen protections, she successfully advanced the adoption of a new rule within the Tribal Court of the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, strengthening legal safeguards for Tribal citizens. She continues to advocate for thoughtful reform and expanded protections within the tribal communities she serves.

Before becoming an attorney, Sheela worked as a children’s special needs therapist. Through social and recreational therapy, often incorporating music, singing, and movement, she helped children find confidence and connection. That experience shaped her legal practice in lasting ways. She understands trauma, power imbalance, and the emotional undercurrents that often drive legal conflict. She brings that insight into litigation without sacrificing strength.

For seven years, she served as a Business Law Professor, teaching corporate governance, structure, and legal strategy. During that same period, she served as Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees for Inland Regional Center, overseeing services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Her leadership has always existed at two levels: individual advocacy and institutional responsibility.

Outside of her professional life, the same themes continue: discipline, legacy, intensity, and grounding.

She reads three to four books a week, drawn to complexity and depth. Her appreciation for 1940s classic cinema reflects her respect for craftsmanship, restraint, and storytelling that endures. Vintage artifacts, knives, and swords appeal to her not for spectacle, but for history and structure, objects built to last.

And yet, for all the intensity, her definition of success is profoundly simple: a table filled with the people she loves, food made from scratch, conversation lingering long after dinner should have ended. She is fiercely protective of her children, but equally committed to raising them with strength, discernment, and an understanding of the world’s nuances.

Sheela leads her firm the same way she lives her life — with discipline, loyalty, conviction, and depth. Strength and warmth are not contradictions. They are necessary companions.
